Restwaythe trip that works, your way

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

We only ask for what helps plan your trip. Here's exactly what that means.

What we collect

About your trip: where you're going, your dates, roughly how many people are traveling, whether children are coming, how you like to pace a day, your budget range, the kinds of things your group enjoys, and the places you choose.

Times you ask us to leave alone: the days and times you mark as busy, and whether your group needs to be in a particular place then. If you tell us where you need to be during a busy time, we save that place with your trip so we can plan around it. A town or neighborhood is enough.

We never ask why. Not once. If you mark Wednesday mornings busy, we don't know whether that's an appointment, a standing lunch, or sleeping in — and we don't want to. The plan works the same either way.

Notes you add: notes you add are stored with your trip, visible only to you and anyone you share the plan with, and never sent to our AI or search providers.

How to handle stairs and walking: whether you'd prefer fewer stairs, or need step-free access. This is a request about the places we suggest, not a question about anyone in your group.

Your account: your email address, and your password if you create one rather than signing in with Google. If you sign in with Google, Google tells our sign-in system your email address, your Google account ID, your name and a link to your profile photo. Our sign-in system keeps that record so you can sign in again. Restway itself only uses your email address and account ID; we don't copy your name or photo into your Restway profile, and we never show or use them.

How you heard about us, if you choose to tell us. It's one optional, fixed-choice question, stored with your account — never with your trip, and never sent to our AI or search providers. If you tell us how you heard about Restway, we use it only to see which ways of reaching people work best.

Payment: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Why we collect it

To build your plan, and to save it so you can come back to it. That's it.

Our legal basis is performing the service you asked for. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for medical information, diagnoses, ages, names of the people you're traveling with, or your home address. We don't track you across other websites. We don't buy data about you from anyone else.

Who else sees it

Google — we search Google Places to find real places listed on Google. Your destination and the kinds of things you're interested in are part of that search. How Google handles that is covered by Google's own privacy policy.

Anthropic — we use their Claude models to build your plan. Your trip details are sent so the plan can be assembled. How Anthropic handles that is covered by Anthropic's own privacy policy.

Stripe — payments only. How Stripe handles your payment information is covered by Stripe's own privacy policy.

Each of these companies handles your information under its own privacy policy, linked above. We can't make promises on their behalf — but we don't send them anything beyond what the service you're using needs to work.

Lovable Cloud — your trip, your sign-in, and your saved plans are stored in Lovable Cloud, which runs the database, authentication, and storage for this site. Lovable Cloud is built on Supabase's open-source software, but Lovable operates it — Supabase the company does not separately receive your information.

Cloudflare — the site is served through Cloudflare's network, so requests pass through it.

We don't sell your information, and we don't buy data about you from anyone else. We don't run third-party advertising trackers — no ad networks and nothing that follows you around the web. There are no ads in this product. The hosting statistics described below are not used for advertising.

How long we keep it

Trips you've paid for stay until you delete them or close your account. Trips you started but never built are deleted 7 days after you last worked on them if you never signed in, or 30 days if you did. Free previews you didn't buy are deleted 30 days after you last worked on them. The questions we asked to check your plan are deleted 30 days after your trip's last day. Feedback you send is separated from your account and trip after 12 months. Error records are deleted after 90 days and never include your travel dates, places or access needs. To fix problems, we label issues with the trip they belong to — only Restway can see this.

If you do not sign in for two years, we may close your inactive account. We send warnings 30 days and 7 days before deletion. Signing in cancels the deletion process. We do not delete the account if we cannot confirm that the warnings can reach you.

We remove saved location coordinates after 30 days. We do not keep Google place names, opening hours, descriptions, accessibility details, photos, or travel times in our database. We keep place IDs so we can look up current details when you view or download your plan.

If you delete your account, we remove your account, trips, plans, answers, busy times, notes and feedback. We keep a limited purchase record, including the payment date, amount, currency, discount code and Stripe reference, for tax, accounting, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Stripe separately keeps its own payment records under its privacy policy. Restway never stores your card number.

Your rights

Most of this you can do yourself. In your account you can delete a single trip, which removes that trip and everything in it — the days, your answers, the busy times — while leaving your account and other trips alone. A limited record of any payment stays in our records even if you later delete the trip or account.

You can also delete your account outright, from the bottom of your account page. That removes every trip you've made, everything in them, your profile, and your sign-in itself, immediately and for good, apart from the limited purchase record described above. There's no undo, and no separate request to us needed.

If you'd rather we handled it, or you want a copy of everything we hold, email hello@restwaytravel.com and we'll respond as soon as we can.

If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Sharing your plan

Restway doesn't have share links. To share a plan, you download the PDF or calendar file and send it yourself. Anyone you send it to can see everything in it, including your notes, and we can't take it back once it's sent. Busy only ever shows as 'Busy' with the time of day.

No tracking

We don't use advertising trackers or follow you across other websites. Our hosting provider, Lovable, records basic, non-advertising visitor statistics, such as page visits, and uses technical scripts that include page-load speed measurements to help monitor the site. These statistics are not used for advertising, to build visitor profiles, or to follow people across other sites. Your sign-in is kept in your own browser's storage, not in a cookie.

Cookies

Our hosting provider, Lovable, sets technical cookies to help serve the site. The published site also loads Lovable's ~flock.js and __l5e/events scripts for visitor statistics and technical monitoring. Its visitor-statistics script can set a session-id cookie that lasts 30 minutes; we also observed a hosting cookie named __dpl. Lovable does not document the precise purpose of every hosting cookie, so we do not describe the visitor-statistics cookie as essential to using Restway. These cookies and statistics are not used for advertising or to follow you across other sites.

Your sign-in and your trip in progress are kept in your own browser's storage, not in a cookie.

Other services can set their own cookies when you use them:

Technical cookies help the site, sign-in and payments work safely; visitor statistics are separate from those functions. We don't use advertising cookies or analytics that follow you elsewhere. If you clear or block this site's stored data in your browser, you'll be signed out and any trip you haven't saved to an account will be lost.

Children

This service is meant for adults planning group trips. We don't knowingly collect information from children, and children shouldn't be creating accounts or using the service directly. You can tell us children are traveling with you — that's a fact about your trip, and we don't collect anything about them.

Emails we send

If you tap "Email me my plan," we send your plan summary and a link to your trip to your own email address. If you tick "Also remind me a week before the trip, and ask how it went after," we send one reminder about a week before your trip and one "How did it go?" message a few days after it ends. If you save a free preview to an account and haven't bought the trip, we also send one reminder, "Your Restway preview is saved until…", after about two days without changes. That reminder invites you to return to your preview and asks what's holding you back. You can turn these scheduled emails off at any time in Email preferences in your account. If you answer "How did it go?", we save your rating, and any comment you add, with your trip and any promo code you used. We don't send separate promotional campaigns; the saved-preview reminder is the one message inviting you back to a trip you haven't bought. Our automated emails come from a no-reply address. To contact us, email hello@restwaytravel.com.

We also send confirmations when you delete a trip or close your account, warnings 30 and 7 days before an inactive account may be deleted, and emails needed for your sign-in or account security: confirming your email address, sign-in links, password resets, email changes and identity confirmation.

Unsubscribing: every email has an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect right away. It stops all of these emails, including "Email me my plan," deletion confirmations and inactive-account warnings. Sign-in and account-security emails still arrive. Our email service keeps a record of what was sent, bounced or unsubscribed so it can honor your choice. We don't track whether you open our emails.

Changes

If we change anything meaningful here, the date at the top of this page changes. We don't send announcement emails — the only emails we send are the ones described above — so please check back here.

If we ever shut down, we'll post notice here and keep plan downloads working for as long as we can — the same commitment we make in our terms.
